May those who love us, love us
And those who don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts
And if he can’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping!

The day has come to put my shawl collared cardigan to rest. I want to make a few summer things, and I figure when I am ready to restart this, i will have some experience putting together sweaters, then i have a better chance of a nice finished project.

i cast off the back last night, and therefore have moved onto the front. :) amen. I am still experiencing back pain. The knitting helps keep my mind off of it a little. i am excited still about seeing the sweater done, and moving on to the next! this will be my simple, prim sweater. then i can get more complex with each successive project. The shaping is simple so far, a dip in for the waist and back out for the breast, and raglan like armhole shaping. we will see. it may end up with a crocheted edge, but maybe not.
Michael is excited about some work opportunities that are coming to the forefront, and therefore he is silly today. I like it when he is silly, but he talks too much. bla bla bla. It’s funny actually. And I am working on a Harley Davidson Seat for a co-worker of Mike’s and I was scared, but I got over it and spoke to the owner, and he knows the risks, so I’ll have at it tomorrow. I revere HD and I am getting to work on one. :) yarn(harley)ho.

frog you

I had to frog about 3.5 inches this morning because of my crappy shoulder shaping. The whole back had become to narrow. I have now resumed knitting and have decided on drop sleeves. the aggravation level was quite high. Especially since I have developed SEVERE lower back pain for the first time in fourteen years, and there was no accident, slip, fall etc, preceding. I was fine at 2:30 and horrible at 3:00 yesterday afternoon. I wish Shriner’s hospital in Philadelphia was alot closer. They would know what to do. I mean, it’s debilitating. I can knit, or whatever, but even sitting still it hurts. Almost can’t even take a deep breath.
But onward and upward with THE Sweater. I will be binding the back section off later today, or early tomorrow, and will post a pic. TTFN. -J

Wip and Prayers

So I have this sweater i a working on, and I am praying that the design works, cus i am looking forward to a shabby chic, somewhat retro style cardi with a slight waist shaping and a HUGE shawl collar. Being my first knitting project, and my first design task, I am both excited and terrified of what may result. So I am posting this progress pic… this was yesterday’s about 10 am. And hoping that the act of having faith in myself will help me through the scared parts.

A normal person? Where!?

So I heard that most people learn to knit, and then they buy, beg, or download a pattern. then the normal person, uses yarn, similar to that used in the pattern and recreates the sweater or gloves or whatever, that they got a pattern for. They continue in this way for a while, until they understand how to put garments together. NOT ME!! oh never be normal. I never knit before i dunno, maybe three weeks ago. I cannot find a pattern that tickles me, or even suits me. at least not free. i want something i want, and i want something unique, and i have no idea what I am doing.
So, I took some measurements, and knitted a swatch. I took more measurements, and drew a sketch, and cast on, and knitted with fury, and I think i am almost a quarter of the way done.
So now, today, I discover this thing called EPS. Elizabeth’s Percentage System, a way to make the design of a sweater simple, and its pretty much to late, my design is finalized, so I am already in over my head.
But, on to the next project. No I am not  quitting the first, but i have begun using what little i know of EPS to design the next. I am smiling, knowing that what little i know of this i seem to actually be accomplishing something. Design is coming out close to as planned, (for now) and i am learning as I go. I think i am going to be okay, we will see.
